Doy

Meet Doy, the friend who lives in your calorie counter

Doy is a small green bean of a friend, forty pixels tall, drawn live by a shader. He lives on a farm inside Doydum and lives off your day: meals, water and steps. He never scolds, never talks about bodies, and an over-target day is just a fuller day.

His moods come from your day

Doy’s brain reads the clock and what you have logged, then picks one mood and one line. Try them:

  • Happy Water done, meals going well.
  • Sleepy Late at night, from 23:00.
  • Hungry A planned meal’s window has passed with nothing logged.
  • Thirsty Water is well behind a steady pace.
  • Proud Every meal, water and steps done: a golden day.
  • Curious Evening, with the streak waiting.

Doy’s moves

Each one is a loop the app’s pixel rig draws: the same code runs here.

  • Snaps your plate
  • Flexes for protein
  • Savours something warm
  • Zaps with energy
  • Has a meal
  • Runs a lap
  • Takes a walk
  • Does pull-ups
  • Salutes the sun
  • Rides a bicycle
  • Kicks a scooter
  • Rests on a bench
  • Reads your week
  • Weighs in
  • Holds a lantern
  • Points the way home

His body is your water meter

Every glass you log raises the water inside Doy. At the end of a well-watered day he is full to the brim; the iPhone widget shows him the same way, with a "+ glass" button.

He reacts to your food by name

Log soup and Doy says "Soup. Everything else is detail." Log a kebab and he wants to come along. His lines come from a small lexicon of food families and pairings in English and Turkish, so the reaction fits the food, not a generic "nice job".

His rules

Doy never scolds or shames, never comments on how a body looks, and never says calorie, weight or diet. Numbers live in your charts and his insight notes, when you ask for them. An over-target day is ordinary: "A fuller day. Tomorrow is a fresh page."

His home

Doy lives on a farm that grows with your days: rows for meals, stones for steps, sunflowers for golden days, crates for finished weeks, animals that move in as you keep going.
